Apple is preparing a fourth-generation iPhone SE with better specs and a larger 6.1-inch display size. This report comes from respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who around two months ago claimed Apple had given up on its plans to release a new iPhone SE in the year 2024.
According to Kuo, the new 6.1-inch iPhone SE will be equipped with an OLED display, as opposed to the LCD display found on the current iPhone SE.
This new iPhone SE will have the same design as the current iPhone 14, which will be a far cry from the existing iPhone SE 3rd generation’s design, which has a 4.7-inch display and a physical home button.
In addition to that the new device will be equipped with an Apple-designed 5G chip as opposed to the Qualcomm Snapdragon X57 chip of the current model. The custom 5G chip will be limited to sub-6GHz bands of 5G.
While discussing these details Kuo did not reveal when the new iPhone SE will be released however it is likely that the device will get released somewhere after March 2024.
