Apple has seeded iOS 18.6 Release Candidate to developers, and it is now available to beta testers. This release comes more than one month after Apple released the first iOS 18.6 beta.
The release of a Release Candidate indicates that Apple has completed the beta testing phase for iOS 18.6 and will release it in the coming days. The build number for today’s release is 22G84.
If you are beta testing iOS 18.6, then you can head over to the Software Update section of your iOS device and install this update.
If everything goes right, then Apple will end up releasing the same build as today for everyone. However, if any bugs are discovered, then Apple can also release a revised Release Candidate and release that to the public.
No new features have been added in iOS 18.6. iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 are the last major releases of iOS 18 before Apple releases iOS 26 for the public in the fall, which should be around mid-September.
Along with iOS 18.6 and iPadOS 18.6 Release Candidates, Apple has also released iPadOS 17.7.9 RC and macOS 15.6 RC.
