Apple has launched iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1 updates, and they are now available for download on supported devices. You can now head over to the Software Update section of your device and download the update over the air.
iOS 26.2.1 is a minor update that focuses on bug fixes and security improvements. It does not bring any new features or noticeable changes to iOS, however, it is still recommended that you install it to fix any major bugs and security issues with your device. This update comes nearly a month after the previous software update release, which was on December 13.
One change that Apple has noted on the iOS software update page is that this update brings support for the newly announced AirTag 2. This means users who buy the new AirTag need to update their device ot the latest version of iOS before they can use it.
Along with iOS 26.2.1, Apple has also released watchOS 26.2.1, which is also available for download.
