Some Mac users might be surprised to learn this but iTunes is still a thing on Windows. And right now there’s an important security fix for iTunes that every Windows user should download.
Apple has recently released iTunes 12.13.2 for Windows and is now available for download. Details about the security changes introduced in this release are available on Apple’s Security page for those who want to read it in detail.
According to the change log this update fixes a bug that caused unexpected app termination or arbitrary code execution. Apple has solved this issue with ‘improved checks’.
While this iTunes for Windows update might not seem cool or interesting as it does not bring any new features to the software, it is still recommended that those using iTunes should update it to the latest version. This can be done by clicking on the Help menu and then choosing Check For Updates from the menu.
iTunes isn’t the only app that is available on Windows. Other apps that include a dedicated Apple Music app, Apple TV app, iCloud app, and the Apple Devices app to manage iOS devices are also available on Microsoft’s desktop platform.
