Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared his predictions for Apple’s new desktop products that will be released in 2022 and 2023.
According to Kuo Apple will be releasing two new products in the year 2022. This will include a more powerful Mac mini and a new external display that will be more affordable for buyers.
We have been hearing about a more powerful Mac mini with M1 Pro and M1 Max chips for quite some time now, so his prediction about an affordable Apple display has piqued my interest more.
In his tweet Kuo goes a step further and also talks about the specs of this new Apple external display.
According to the analyst Apple’s affordable external display will have a 27-inch screen compared to Apple Pro Display XDR’s 32-inch display. The screen is also going to be a LED display instead of being mini-LED (like MacBook Pro 2021).
Kuo has not specified any price for the upcoming external display.
Mark Gurman has also reported about Apple’s plans of announcing an external display at its March 8 event. According to Gurman Apple has already completed work on the display months ago.
However Gurman has not specified if this is the affordable external display Kuo is talking about in his tweet or the rumored 7K resolution ‘Studio Display’, which is touted as the successor to the Pro Display XDR.
2023 desktop lineup
Talking about the 2023 desktop lineup Kuo believes Apple will be launching the Mac Pro and iMac Pro in 2023. This would come as a disappointing news for those who were expecting Apple to release these powerful desktop machines with Apple Silicon by the end of 2022.
