We are just hours away from Apple’s highly anticipated Surprise and Shine event, where it is expected to announce its first-ever foldable iPhone.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared last-minute details about the upcoming device, allegedly revealing its name, price, color options, and availability.
According to a series of posts on X by Gurman, Apple’s upcoming foldable device will reportedly be called iPhone Duo, rather than the previously rumored iPhone Ultra.
Gurman told his followers that the iPhone Duo will be priced at $2,000 for the entry-level model with 256GB storage. Apple will also offer the iPhone Duo at around $3,000 with 2TB storage.
The iPhone Duo is said to be coming in two color options, including a dark blue and white variant. Interestingly, Gurman says it will support Apple Pencil. However, he did not mention whether Apple will release a new smaller Apple Pencil for the iPhone Duo or whether users will have to carry the iPad Apple Pencil with this device.
iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max
Apple is also going to launch iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max today. These devices will launch at $100 higher price than the previous generation. Both devices are said to include improved cameras and a smaller and more capable Dynamic Island.
According to Gurman, the iPhone 18 Pro Dynamic Island will support three tasks at once as opposed to two tasks in the previous generations. Vapor Chamber, which was added to iPhones last year, will also be improved in the new generation.
Apple Watch and AirPods
Gurman also talked about Apple Watch and AirPods in his posts.
According to Gurman, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 both will have privacy-focused AI features that will analyze users’ day and provide a summary of what took place during the day. The Watch will also feature AI audio conversations, which will not be recorded or stored.
He says AirPods 5 will be released with improved active noise cancellation and will come in two variants, one with a wireless charging case and one without it.
Apple’s Surprise and Shine event kicks off at 10 AM PT today.
