Longtime iPhone users who miss the iOS 9 music widget are going to love the newly released NineMusic tweak for jailbroken iOS 13 and iOS 14 devices.
iOS 9 or earlier used to have a simple looking lock screen music widget that showed the music controls including playback slider, music, title and artist name followed by the album artwork. Apple replaced this music widget with what we have on our device right now, a widget that is more compact and shows a tiny album artwork image.
If you miss the iOS 9 music widget and want to get it on your current iOS version, then simply download the NineMusic tweak from Cydia or your preferred package manager.
The NineMusic tweak has a simple purpose, which is to bring the iOS 9 music widget experience to newer iOS versions. Right after installing this tweak you will notice that the new widget has replaced the stock widget found on iOS 13 or 14.
With NineMusic a large album artwork is also shown below the music control, just like the original iOS 9 widget. The artwork is replaced by the notification banners if you have pending notifications, which is convenient.
You can download the NineMusic tweak from developer MinhTon’s repository (https://minh-ton.github.io/repo/) for free.
