Redesigned iPad With USB-C And M2 iPad Pros Said To Launch ‘In A Matter Of Days’

We have been hearing rumors about Apple launching a bunch of new products in October via press releases. Now Mark Gurman writing in his Power On newsletter for Bloomberg has reiterated the launch of new iPads models, which according to him should launch ‘In a matter of days’.

Apple is expected to launch new redesigned budget iPad, which for the first time will feature a USB-C port, pushing Apple towards completion of its USB-C transition, at least on the iPads.

The new budget iPad is also said to feature a new and modern design, which will be similar to the iPad Pro with edge-to-edge display and no home button. Gurman notes that this will be the most significant update to the budget iPad till date.

New iPad Pros are also expected to launch in the coming days featuring the M2 chip. Gurman says this new M2 Chip on the iPad Pros will offer a 20 percent speed boost over M1. Design-wise iPad Pros are expected to remain the same as previous generations, as those changes are not expected to arrive this year.

New Macs are also coming ‘in the near future’

On the Mac front Gurman says Apple is preparing update 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, however these are not expected to launch alongside iPads and will be launched “in the near future”. Apple has historically launched the new Macs in November. Apart from featuring M2 chips, the new MacBook Pros are not expected to feature any changes worth mentioning.

High-end MacBook Pros are not the only devices that are expected to get an upgrade, Apple is also planning to launch M2 chip powered Mac mini.
