Report: iMac Pro With Apple Silicon And AirPods Pro 2 To Launch This Year

If you have been waiting for a powerful all-in-one desktop from Apple powered by its in-house Silicon, then Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared some interesting tidbits for you.

In his weekly Newsletter PowerOn Gurman writes Apple is going to launch a new 27-inch iMac Pro with M1 Pro or M1 Max chips this year. What makes this interesting is that Gurman expects Apple to call the new machine iMac Pro, reviving the branding that has disappeared with the discontinuation of the Intel iMac Pro.

The ‘Pro’ branding also indicates that it will be a high-end machine that will be geared towards professionals and those who require high processing power, instead of just being a larger sibling of the 24-inch M1 iMac, which is already available for purchase. The iMac Pro is expected to feature the same design as the M1 iMac.

In addition to iMac Pro with Apple Silicon we can also expect Apple to launch a high-end Mac mini powered by its M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. Both iMac Pro and Mac mini are expected to launch this year.

Another product that will be launched this year is the second generation of AirPods Pro. The upcoming is going to be a “big update” will new design and more features.

Gurman has also talked about the release of iPhone SE with 5G, iPad Air 5th generation with improved specs and a new Mac at an Apple Event that is scheduled for either March or April of this year. A confirmation on exactly when this event will take place is unknown.
