Researcher Demoes iOS 14.2 Jailbreak On iPhone 12 Pro

It has been less than a month since the release of iPhone 12 Pro but it looks like the new iPhone has already been jailbroken. An iOS 14.2 jailbreak running on iPhone 12 Pro was demonstrated by security researcher Liang Chen (@chenliang0817).

The Singular Security Researcher demonstrated his feat in a video that showcases the the hack. In the video we can see a proprietary jailbreak app aptly called ‘iOS14Jailbreak’.

When this app is launched it displays a ‘Jailbreak’ button tapping on which triggers the jailbreak process. After a minute or so the app is able to jailbreak the device and achieve root access on it.

This is a major accomplisment by Liang Chen considering he was able to hack not only the latest iOS version but did it on Apple’s latest iPhone 12 Pro with the A14 Bionic chip. However it is also important to point out that those waiting for an iOS 14 jailbreak for iPhone 12 series should not expect him or Singular Security Researcher team to release a public jailbreak.

This demonstration is just that, for demonstration purposes only and Chen has never released a public jailbreak, nor does he has announced any plans of releasing one now.

Having said that it is nevertheless exciting to see iOS 14.2 getting jailbroken on iPhone 12 Pro and it certainly raises hopes for a jailbreak in the not so distant future.
