Winocm shows triple boot on iPad 2 running iOS 7, iOS 6 and iOS 5 simultaneously

triple boot iOS 7 iPad

Recently we reported about Winocm’s dual booting video in which the infamous iOS hacker showed us his iPad that was running iOS 6 and iOS 5 at the same time. While that was an amazing achievement the hacker did not stop there as he is back with another ground breaking feat. In his new video, which is embedded below for your viewing pleasure he has triple-booted iOS 7, iOS 6 and iOS 5 at the same time.

Just like the last time he has used his iPad 2 for the purpose. Surprisingly, the whole process of booting three totally different versions of the operating system takes a little over 2 minutes to achieve. As seen in the video and mentioned in the video’s Youtube description Winocm is not using iTunes or Evasi0n tool. Instead he is using the ‘magical injection utility and bootstrap’ to boot these three different versions of iOS on his device.

(Since some people can’t tell the difference between say, iOS 5 and iOS 6 based on icons. Oh well. Hopefully the massively white iOS 7 UI will open your eyes. Oh yeah, no evasi0n7 either. :D)

release in 7 years..?

Winocm has not given any ETA or indication whether he is working or will be releasing a tool to allow normal users do dual or triple booting on their devices. At the end of his video description he jokingly says “release in 7 years..?”.

The firmwares hacker is using on his iPad are not signed. He has mentioned in a tweet that he ‘forgot’ to save SHSH blob for every iOS version.

When asked whether he will be porting Android to Apple hardware the developer replied that he is currently working on Linux port.
