Ugreen Revodok Pro 313 And Ugreen Revodok 210 USB-C Hub: Great USB-C Hubs For Mac? (Review)

When it comes to ports the Apple MacBooks are lacking behind their competition. The whole port ordeal for users started when the company removed some of the most commonly used ports from its MacBooks.

While the company has tried to mitigate the issue by bringing back SD card reader and HDMI ports on the MacBook Pros, today’s MacBooks still have a long way to go to achieve connectivity perfection. This is especially true for lower-end models like the MacBook Air and the entry-level MacBook Pro.

Due to the mess of Apple’s own creation, it has become necessary for MacBook users to buy a USB-C hub if they want to enhance the compatibility and connectivity of their laptops and do multiple things with a single USB-C port.

When it comes to USB-C adapters, there are plenty of options out there. Today we are going to take a look at the newly released Ugreen Revodok Pro 210, which is a 10 in 1 USB-C Hub, and the Ugreen Revodok Pro 313 13 in 1 USB-C Docking Station.

Both of these USB-C hubs are very powerful docks that offer fast data transfer speeds, various kinds of ports, and premium build quality. Let’s talk about each of them in detail.

Ugreen Revodok Pro 210 10 in 1 USB C Hub

The Ugreen Revodok Pro 210 10 in 1 USB C Hub is a 10-port docking station that brings a bunch of ports to your computer. It connects to the computer with a single USB-C port and adds up to 10 ports to the computer. The ports you get with this powerful hub include the following.

  • 1 5Gbps USB-C port
  • 1 100W USB-C PD port
  • 1 USB-A 3.0 port
  • 2 USB-A 2.0 ports
  • 2 HDMI ports
  • SD card reader
  • microSD card reader
  • RJ45 port for ethernet connectivity

With this USB-C hub you can connect up to two 4K displays at 60Hz, or an impressive 8K display at 30Hz. For Mac users, this USB-C hub can support two external displays however both of them will display the same screen. If you use this hub with a Windows laptop, then you can connect two monitors, and both of them will show a different screen.

The dock provides fast data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps through its USB-C and USB-A ports. One of the USB-C ports on this dock offers 100W power delivery, with an 85W USB-C pass-through charging support.

For those looking to add a wired Internet connection to their MacBook for low latency and fast download speeds, you also get a RJ45 port, which is capable of offering up to 1000Mbps speeds.

When it comes to design and build quality the Ugreen Revodok 210 10 in 1 USB C Hub offers the same great build quality as any other Ugreen product that we have tested previously. The aluminum design of this USB-C hub adds a nice premium feel to it while also making it pretty durable. The compact size of this dock also means that you can easily use it at home or office and carry it around with you in your backpack.

For connectivity with the MacBook, this dock comes with a 1-foot USB-C cable, which is braided.

And the fact that in addition to MacBook this docking station also works with an iPad makes it the perfect USB-C hub for Apple users.

My experience with Ugreen 210 10 in 1 USB C Hub

I used the Ugreen 210 10 in 1 USB C Hub with my MacBook for almost a month before writing this review. Having a powerful and multifunctional hub at my disposal helped in enhance my workflow and add new features to the MacBook that are not present by default.

The ability to attach an external monitor, multiple USB-C and USB-A devices, card readers, and a fast ethernet connection to the MacBook is a game changer for anyone doing serious work on their Apple laptop.

The data transfer speeds provided with the dock were also very fast and I noticed no difference when transferring data to and from my external hard drive to the MacBook when compared with directly connecting the hard drive to the MacBook’s port.

Similarly, the data transfer speeds of SD and microSD card readers were the same as those of the built-in card reader of the MacBook. An added benefit of the microSD card reader on this USB-C hub is that I no longer needed to put the microSD card into a card jacket before I could transfer data.

The compact size of the Ugreen 210 USB-C hub also made it easier to carry around in my backpack. It has earned a permanent place in my backpack thanks to the convenience it brings to my on-the-go work setup.

My experience with Ugreen Revodok Pro 313 13 in 1 USB-C Docking Station

Before writing this review, I used the Ugreen Revodok Pro 313 13 in 1 USB C Docking Station for nearly a month. Due to this extensive usage, I think I am ready to give my verdict on this product.

The Ugreen Revodok Pro 313 is noticeably larger and bulkier than the Revodok 210, and that’s on purpose, as its size allows the dock to feature 3 more ports. This dock is designed for those who are looking for a docking station and USB-C hub for their desk. With added ports and a larger footprint, this makes up for a perfect docking station for Mac users.

During my testing, I used the Revodok Pro 313 as the primary dock for my MacBook. It allowed me to output to a monitor, and connect USB accessories like external hard drives, USB thumb drives, MagSafe charger for my iPhone, SD card for my camera, and other accessories to the MacBook with great convenience – all through a single USB-C port.

The presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack made my life a lot easier as it allowed me to connect my headphones to the MacBook more easily whenever I wanted to perform audio monitoring on video voiceovers.

The layout that places ports on two sides of the dock also made it easier to connect different peripherals to the MacBook without creating cable clutter.

The braided USB-C cable is also long enough to easily connect the docking station with the MacBook.
