Tesla Wireless Charger Wirelessly Charges Your iPhone

If you are a Tesla enthusiast, then we might have your next must have iPhone accessory. The electric vehicle maker has launched a brand new portable Qi wireless charger, which like all Qi enabled devices works with the latest iPhones including the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.

This isn’t the first accessory the automaker has launched for smartphone users, as previously it has also released a Tesla Powerbank that allows users to charge their devices on the go. This new Tesla Wireless Charger allows users to place their iPhone on top in order to recharge it. Before you can wirelessly charge your iPhone you have to press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to activate wireless charging feature.

It also comes with integrated USB-C cable good for most non-Apple devices, and a USB-A port that you can use to plug in your USB-A based lightning cable and charge your device with wire. The same USB-A port is used to recharge the wireless charger itself.

As for the charge, the Tesla Wireless Charger for smartphones comes with a 6,000mAh battery (22.2Wh), which can provide an additional 21 hours talk time and 18 hours of surfing time according to the spec sheet.

Here are the specs and features of the Tesla Wireless Charger

  • Charge Wirelessly: Set your Qi enabled phone on the wireless base. Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to activate wireless charging
  • Charge On the Go: Plug your phone into the integrated USB-C cable. For non USB-C ports, use the USB-A port to plug in any USB-A charging cable
  • Charge the Internal Battery: Use the built in USB-A cable to charge your Wireless Charger from any USB port.
  • 21 hours additional talk time
  • 18 hours additional surfing
  • Battery capacity:  Lithium-ion polymer 6000mAh
  • Watt hours:  22.2Wh

  • Removable USB cable (USB-C to USB-A) and 1 USB-A Port
  • Output charging:

Tesla Wireless Charger is available for $65. The relatively high price is obviously due to the novelty nature of the item and having the Tesla logo. If you are not a huge Tesla fan and are just looking for a decent portable wireless charger then there are plenty of decent options available on Amazon at a lower price point and more battery capacity.
