VLC 3.0 Vetinari Brings Variety Of New Features To Popular Media Player

VLC is one of the most powerful video players for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TV thanks to its support for a wide range of video and audio formats. VideoLAN’s VLC media player received a major update recently bringing VLC 3.0 “Vetinari” to its users. With this update VLC has gained a bunch of new features for all the different platforms it is available for, which includes iOS, macOS and tvOS.

Some of the new features included in the VLC 3.0 include automatic hardware decoding support for 4K and 8K videos, support for 360 video and 3D audio, support for 10bits and HDR, ability to stream Chromecast devices including the formats that are not supported natively, ability to play Blue-Ray Java menus and support for browsing of local network drives and NAS.

You can now download VLC 3.0 Vitinari update on your Mac from their official website. tvOS version with these new features is also available. The VLC for Mobile can be downloaded from the App Store for free here.

The latest version features support for iPhone X. While the version with iPhone X support is already available VLC 3.0 has yet to hit the iOS store.
