Ever since Apple has introduced the dark mode in iOS 13, users have been waiting for WhatsApp Messenger to do the same. Even months after the release of iOS 13 WhatsApp users have still been waiting for the popular app to natively support the Dark Mode.
However it looks like WhatsApp is finally fulfilling the number 1 wish from its users as the app’s developers have started beta testing the Dark Mode in WhatsApp Beta version 2.20.30. Currently the dark mode feature has been pushed to beta users and the app’s beta change log clearly mentions Dark Mode in ‘What to Test’ section. This means once developers of WhatsApp has beta tested the dark mode within the close and private group of users, they will eventually bring it to the main app in the coming weeks or months.
The ETA for WhatsApp Dark Mode to the main app depends on how the beta testing goes for the feature. If everything turns out to be good in initial beta testing then we can expect this feature to land on our devices sooner than later.
In addition to iOS, WhatsApp has also been beta testing the dark mode feature on its Android app. On the Android version WhatsApp has also included some solid dark background wallpapers that will allow users to create a complete dark appearance even on the conversation screen.
We will update you once WhatsApp For iPhone’s Dark Mode has been released in the App Store. (Via)
