It is always nice to have lyrics of your favorite songs handy as you can use them to memorize a song for bathroom singing or to understand the their  true meaning. While iTunes and the stock Music app support lyrics for music stored on iPhone or iPad, you cannot add or edit lyrics from the iOS device itself. You have to add lyrics using your computer through iTunes. This changes today as a new Cydia app called LyricsExplorer enables users to add or edit lyrics of the songs stored in their library right on iOS.

LyricsExplorer appears as a standalone app on the homescreen. You can launch this app and once you do that you will be able to see all songs in your library as a list. From there you can tap on the song you want to edit and type in the lyrics. You can also paste lyrics copied from the web, which is a much convenient more way of doing it.

Once you have made changes to a song you can launch Music app to see them. LyricsExplorer not only lets you add lyrics to songs synced on the device through iTunes but you can also do that for songs imported from third-party music downloader apps from Cydia as well as iTunes Match.

LyricsExplorer is a nice tweak to have if you want a way to add lyrics to your music without using your computer. You can download the tweak from Cydia for free where it is available in the BigBoss repo.
