After a long wait the Electra Team has released their iOS 12 jailbreak tool called Chimera and it is now available for download. Chimera jailbreak tool is an alternative to the unc0ver jailbreak tool that also enables users to jailbreak iOS 12.0 – iOS 12.1.2 powered devices. However what makes Chimera better than unc0ver is its support for A12 and A12X devices. This makes Chimera the first ever jailbreak tool to fully support iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and new iPad models.
Another thing that makes Chimera jailbreak unique is the fact that it ditches Cydia for Electra team’s modern Sileo package manager. Sileo as you may have already seen is a package manager designed for modern iOS and its user-interface reflects that. Unlike Cydia that still has a design reminiscent of the pre-iOS 7 design, Sileo looks similar to the App Store. Chimera’s official page highlights Sileo as being full of features and speed enhancements that “make installing packages a breeze”.
If you are interested in jailbreaking your iOS device with Chimera, then you can head to their official page and download it on your computer. You will need Cydia Impactor tool in order to side-load Chimera app on your iPhone or iPad and then you can carry on with the jailbreak process on the iOS device.
