Emerald Tweak For iPhone Brings Tiny Widgets To Status Bar

Emerald tweak for jailbroken notched iPhones allows users to add information rich widgets to the left side of the notch thus adding more usefulness to the device’s status bar.

No matter if you are someone who hates the notch or someone who really hates the notch, almost all iPhone users would agree that Apple could take better advantage of the leftover area on the left and right side of the notch.

The newly released Emerald tweak for jailbroken iPhones does exactly that by giving users the ability to add Status Bar widgets on their device.

Using Emerald tweak you can add pill shaped ‘Emeralds’ on the left side of the notch. The tweak can display a wide range of small and useful widgets including the following:

  • Volume
  • Time
  • Date
  • Device
  • Notification
  • Current Weather Condition
  • Bluetooth Devices
  • Network Upload and Download
  • Reminders
  • Battery
  • Media
  • Temperature
  • Calendar

Emerald tweak intelligently displays the relevant information on the status bar as required, however you are also given the choice to choose a primary pill, which can be done by long pressing on the Emerald and choosing from the selection menu.

Many of the Emerald pills also offer what the developer of the tweak calls ‘Platters’. These platters give users access to more information related to that widget.

For example by tapping on the Battery pill you can access battery information for connected devices, by tapping on the Temperature pill you can access weather forecast for your current location and by tapping on the Media pill you can access now playing controls.

Similarly you also get Platters for the Reminders pill, which lets you view and manage upcoming reminders and Calendar pill platter that lets you see upcoming events.

As you would expect from such a well designed tweak, Emerald offers many customizations to allow users to have full control over how it works.

You can download the Emerald tweak from the Packix repo where it is available for $2.49. It is compatible with iPhones running iOS 12 all the way up to iOS 14.4.
