When it comes to design and user experience folders are certainly not the best part of the iOS operating system, as there’s a lot of room for improvement. The new Cydia tweak called Exsto aims to do just that by changing the way folders look and work on iPhone. After installing the hack first thing you will notice is that the icons of your folders will be look different. Now they will feature four icons that are larger in size and no background, which looks nice. Exsto is not just about looks though as the tweak also changes the way you access and launch apps stored in the folders.
When you long press on a folder icon a popup radial menu will appear around your finger. The menu will contain apps that are stored in that particular folder. To launch any app all you have to do is slide your finger to the icon and let go. The app launching process in the tweak is very similar to how audio sharing menu works in the Messages app. Exsto is also capable of highlighting the apps that have pending notifications by adding a red glow behind their icon in the menu.
From settings you can configure the tweak to limit the number of icons that are displayed in the Exsto menu. You can also change the radius of the menu, turn off notification glow and more.
Exsto tweak is available in Cydia for $0.99. It fully supports iOS 9 and iOS 8 powered devices.
