The new Music app that debuted with the release of iOS 8.4 features a major redesign and the new Apple Music streaming service. While this new app is an improvement over the older version there are a few features that are missing from it. The most notable feature that is surprisingly missing is the ability to shuffle all songs in the music library. Apple removed this feature for no apparent reason and now it seems like it has realized its mistake, as the company has re-added it in iOS 9 beta 5.
While iOS 9 and its Music app is still a month away from release, you can get the ability to shuffle your music with the help of the new Mix It Up tweak from Cydia. This tweak adds a new ‘Shuffle’ button on top left side of the screen, which when tapped starts music playback by shuffling all songs in your music collection.
The tweak also adds a new ‘Shuffle’ button on the artist page enabling you to shuffle all songs from that particular artist.
You can download the Mix It Up tweak from Cydia for free. It is available through the private repo of developer ATWiiks at ‘http://repo.andrewwiik.me’. Simply add this repo to your sources to download it.
If your device is not jailbroken, then you can also try the Music app shuffle workaround detailed here.
