iOS 8’s quick reply feature is great but sadly it is limited to the stock Messages application only. Previously we have covered many tweaks that bring this all important feature to popular apps like WhatsApp. Now a new tweak called Envelope, which has been released in Cydia brings the very same functionality to WhatsApp’s rival app Telegram. This will allow jailbreak users to reply to incoming messages right from the banner and the lockscreen.
Just like the stock quick reply feature the Envelope tweak adds the ability for users to reply to messages by swiping down on the notification banner and typing the message, without leaving the page they are currently using or launching the Telegram app. Similarly users can slide on a Telegram app notification on the lockscreen and hit the ‘Reply’ button to reply. The hack enables iOS’s native quick reply functionality rather than adding a different one, which is great.
With Envelope you can reply to normal chats, group chats as well as secret chats. There are no settings to configure for this tweak and you need an iOS 8 powered device to take advantage of features Envelope tweak brings.
