Looks like the prayers of Nintendo fans have been heard, as the company has officially announced on Twitter that it is going to release a mobile version of its hugely popular Mario Kart game. This means the game will finally be making its way to iOS and Android platforms. The tweet was sent from Nintendo America’s account that noted Mario Kart Tour is under development and will be released in fiscal year March 2019.
The information about Mario Kart Tour revealed in the tweet is quite vague. We still don’t know the exact release date or how far Nintendo is in terms of game’s development. Details about how users will be able to play against friends in multiplayer modes and other important details are still unknown.
Perhaps only bad news from this announcement is the date, which is still 13 months away. With Nintendo’s new mobile strategy some of its biggest titles have been released for mobile platforms. Nintendo redesigned the titles for the touch screen such as Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing and the releases have been a huge hit.
The checkered flag has been raised and the finish line is near. A new mobile application is now in development: Mario Kart Tour! #MarioKartTour Releasing in the fiscal year ending in March 2019. pic.twitter.com/8GIyR7ZM4z
