If you are an active member of the iOS jailbreak community whose life has been affected due to Cydia Impactor being broken, then you are going to like this news. A new Cydia Impactor alternative for macOS has been released by developer @pixelomer. The new side-loading utility is called AltDeploy and it is currently available for download.
With AltDeploy utility users can side-load any app to their iOS devices provided they have got an .IPA file available. In addition to miscellaneous apps, you can also use AltDeploy side-loading utility to install unc0ver and Chimera jailbreak tools to your supported devices.
Using AltDeploy is quite similar to Cydia Impactor too, as it largely features the same user-interface. Once you have connected your iPhone or iPad to the computer using a USB cable, your device will show up on AltDeploy. At this point you can simply drag and drop the IPA file onto the tool to start its transfer to your iOS device. You will also be required to enter an Apple ID and password before the transfer can be complete, same as Cydia Impactor.
AltDeploy relies on a Mac Mail app plugin so you will need to enable that by going to Mail app’s preferences screen. Mail app also needs to be running in the background every time you are using AltDeploy.
For now AltDeploy is available on Mac only, and no plans have been announced for a Windows release yet.
