iPhone’s StandBy mode allows users to see the clock and other useful widgets when they put their device on charge in landscape mode.

While the StandBy mode is great and looks good too, some people find it distracting. If you are one of those people and want to disable StandBy mode on your iPhone completely, then this guide is for you.

Turn off StandBy mode

  1. Open Settings and tap on the StandBy option.
  2. On the next page turn off the toggle for StandBy.

If you don’t want to turn this feature off completely and instead want to change its behavior, then you can also tap on the Display option from the StandBy menu.

On the next screen, you can choose if you want the Standby display to turn off automatically, after 20 seconds, or never. You can also enable the night mode toggle which displays a red tint in low ambient lighting, which makes it easier to use standby at night.
