How To Downgrade to iOS 12 From iOS 13

Note: In case you have created iTunes backups while your device is on iOS 13, you will not be able to restore this backup once your device is on iOS 12.4.1. You will only be able to restore an iTunes backup that you created while your iPhone or iPad was running iOS 12. If you want to restore your most recent backup, then we advice you to create an iCloud backup first.

Step 1: First off all download iOS 12.4.1 for your model of iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Direct iOS 12.4.1 IPSW download links are available here.

Step 2: Turn off Find My iPhone on your iOS device by going to Settings -> Apple ID -> iCloud -> Find My iPhone. Then put it in recovery mode. For iPhone X or later follow the steps below. For older devices see this guide here.

    • Press Volume Up button and release.
    • Press Volume Down button and release.
    • Press the Side button and keep the button pressed until your iPhone reboots.
    • Keep the Side button pressed even when your iPhone shows the Apple boot logo.
    • Now you will see the Connect to iTunes logo on your iPhone. Let go of the Side button and proceed to next step.

Step 3: Now connect your device to your computer using a Lightning cable and open iTunes. Then go to your device’s summary page by clicking on the small iPhone or iPad icon from the top.

Step 4: If you are on Mac hold the ‘Option’ key and click on the Restore button. On Windows hold the Shift key and click on the Restore button.

Step 5: A window will open, on this window open the folder your had downloaded iOS 12.4.1 IPSW in step 1 and select it.

At this point iTunes will start the process of downgrading to iOS 12.4.1 from iOS 13. Be patient and let iTunes complete the process without interruption. Once the installation process is complete you will be able to set up your device on iOS 12.
