In this guide, you will learn how you can trim a video from start and end using the iPhone’s built-in video editing tools. The best thing about this method is that you can do it without downloading any third-party apps.

Video trimming is a useful tool that lets you get rid of unnecessary or boring parts from the beginning or end of a video. You can easily trim a video from the Photos app by following the steps below.

Trim a video on iPhone

  1. Launch the Photos app.
  2. Find and open the video you want to trim.
  3. Now tap on the Edit button from the bottom bar (it is located next to the i button). This will reveal trimming tools.
  4. Now drag the left handle to the point where you want your video to start. You can also drag the right handle to choose where you want it to end.
  5. After adjusting the left and right handles, tap on the Play button to preview the final footage.

If you’re satisfied with the result, tap on the Done button at the top. This will give you two options. The Save Video option will replace your original video with the trimmed version.

You can also select Save Video as New Clip, which will keep the original video and create a new file for the edited version.

While the trimming tool found within the Photos app is great for trimming a video from start and end. However, if you are looking for advanced video editing and want to cut out parts of a video from the middle, then you have to use apps like iMovie or any other video editing app for iPhone.
