Apple Announces The New iPad Pro: All Screen Design, Face ID, USB-C And More

Apple has announced the new iPad Pro. At the announcement Apple announced that they have sold over 400 million iPads until today. Last year Apple said it sold 44.2 million new iPads, which makes iPad the most popular computer in the world.

The all new iPad Pro features an 11-inch Liquid Retina display that goes edge-to-edge and top to bottom. The display features TrueTone feature, ProMotion and Apple Pencil Support. It also comes in a 12.9-inch screen size, however with the smaller bezels it is much smaller than the previous model.

iPad Pros are powered by A12X Bionic 7 nanometer chip. Its processor features over 10 billion transistors. A12X Bionic chip has 8-Core CPU and 7-Core GPU. It offers 35% faster single core performance and 90 percent faster multi-core processor. The GPU provides 2x faster graphics performance than previous generation. Neural Engine has also been added to the iPad Pro that can be used by Photos and third-party apps.

The new iPad Pros feature Face ID authentication. Users can now unlock their tablet, log into apps and pay online with a glance. Unlike the iPhone, Face ID on the iPad works in both portrait and landscape orientations. It will also work while you have the keyboard accessory attached to your iPad.

iPad Pro is also thinner than before and comes at 5.9mm thick compared to 6.9mm thickness of last year’s model.

For connectivity and charging iPad Pro features USB-C port, which not only allows users to connect accessories but also lets them charge their iPhone.

Along with the new iPad Pros Apple has also announced the second generation Apple Pencil that magnetically attaches to the iPad. It connects to the iPad automatically and charges wirelessly while it is attached to the tablet. The new Pencil also offers gestures that allow users to switch tools and perform actions by tapping on the body with their finger.

iPad Pro 11-inch starts at $799 while the iPad Pro 12.9-inch iPad Pro starts at $999. It is available for pre-order today and delivers on 7th November.
