Apple has released iOS 11.2.2 software update for all models of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and the update is now available for download. The software release mostly focuses on the Spectre bug and brings mitigations to Safari browser and WebKit that will be helpful in preventing hacking. Apple has highlighted the importance of this release by saying it is “recommended for all users”.
If you want to upgrade your iOS device to iOS 11.2.2 and we recommend that you should, you can find the update in the Settings app by going to General > Software Update. You can also download iOS 11.2.2 using the direct IPSW download links that are available below.
In addition to releasing iOS 11.2.2, Apple has also released macOS 10.13.2 supplemental security update. This update too is expected to feature mitigations for meltdown and spectre bugs.
