iOS 13.7 And iPadOS 13.7 Released As Developer Beta

iOS 13.7

Apple has released iOS 13.7 developer beta and it is now available for download. Developers who are interested in testing out iOS 13.7 or iPadOS 13.7 can download it after installing configuration profile for iOS 13.7 on their device. Developers can also download Restore images from the developer center and use them to install iOS 13.7 on their testing devices.

Today’s launch was a confusing one as initially both iOS 13.7 and iPadOS 13.7 updates were available on public devices. However now it has been confirmed that they are only available as developer beta for now and will be released for public at a later time.

The biggest new feature in iOS 13.7 brings opt-in support for the COVID-19 Exposure Notifications feature that Apple and Google had announced a few months ago. The Exposure Notifications feature will allow users to participate in COVID-19 contact tracing in supported regions without the need of downloading an app.

On iPad the iPadOS 13.7 brings bug fixes only as the Exposure Notifications feature is available only on the iPhone. iOS 13.7 is most probably the last major iOS 13 release before the release of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14, which is currently in its sixth developer beta.

After downloading the Configuration Profile for iOS 13.7, you can install iOS 13.7 on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch by heading to Settings -> General -> Software Update.
