If rumors are to be believed then the next iPhone, which is supposedly going to be an iPhone 8 rather than iPhone 7s will feature an edge-to-edge screen. This means the device will no longer have bezels on sides, top and bottom of the display. Instead the display will cover the whole front of the device. This futuristic iPhone won’t be the first device to feature such a display as Xiomi Mi Mix has already been released in the market however it will be a game changer for the industry.
The iPhone 8 concept with an edge-to-edge screen looks absolutely breathtaking. The concept not only adds an edge-to-edge display to iPhone but also removes the physical home button, replacing it with an on-screen button. As for the Touch ID capability, that is also built-into the display allowing users to log into their devices by simply touching the bottom part of the screen. The concept goes further, laying out the expected specifications of the device including dual 16MP cameras, AMOLED display, an Iris scanner, three different screen sizes, USB Type-C port and a ‘Pro’ model with support for Apple Pencil. All of which is of course made up, as it is hard to predict what this year’s iPhone will actually feature in terms of design and specs.
Still it is fun to visualize the radically redesigned, futuristic iPhone 8. With Apple expected to give a major redesign to iPhone on its 10th anniversary, nothing is off the table. [Source]
