Smartphone addiction is not only a serious concern for kids but it is also for adults. Just checking the Screen Time stats on your iPhone should be enough to know whether you are addicted to your smartphone or not. While you can take steps to help reduce the time you spend on your iPhone using the iOS’s built-in features, there’s another trick that may be helpful.
As noted by Quartz You can potentially reduce the time you spend on your iPhone by turning off the Raise to Wake functionality of your iPhone. This feature turns on the iPhone’s display when you pick it up, also showing you all the notifications from addicting apps like Twitter, Reddit, Instagram and more. By not having your screen turn on every time you pick it up from table might just be helpful in keeping yourself from unlocking the device and spending unaccounted minutes on it.
You can turn off Raise to Wake by going to Settings > Display & Brightness and turning off toggle for Raise to Wake.
By turning off this iPhone feature you will not get to see the notifications accidentally when you pick up your iPhone, as the screen will only turn on when you actually intend to, by tapping on the screen or pressing the side button.
