If you are an iPhone 4S owner who is still in the process of deciding whether to upgrade to iOS 8 or not, a Youtube video may make the decision easier. The video demonstrates the performance of two iPhone 4S’ running iOS 8.0.2 and iOS 7.1.2, comparing their speeds. As with the previous iOS releases, users of iPhone 4S are hesitant of updating their device to the latest version as they are concerned it would make the device slower. Last year iPhone 4 owners were in the same position, many of whom regretted the decision of upgrading since it negatively affected their device’s performance.
In the video the user opens several stock apps simultaneously including Photos, Calendar, Camera, App Store and more. As evident in the video the difference between the loading times isn’t huge and mostly remains unnoticeable. The only exception is the App Store, which loads significantly slower on the iOS 8 powered device compared to iOS 7.
It is important to note here that the iOS 8.0.2 performance on iPhone 4S seems a lot better than the earlier versions of iOS 8, which includes the betas.
If you are still unsure whether to upgrade to the latest version of iOS then this video comparison can be very helpful. Watch the video and decide for yourself. (9to5Mac) – Thanks Alex for the tip!
This “sarfari” app they tried looks interesting. Where can I get it?
