Apple is all set to release iOS 27 for the public on Monday, September 14. The release will enable anyone with a compatible iPhone to install iOS 27.0 on his or her device.
Following the public release of its major operating system, Apple typically moves on to testing the next major point release of iOS, which in this case will be iOS 27.1.
The release of iOS 27.0 will be followed by the availability of iOS 27.1 beta. Apple typically releases betas of the next major iOS release between 2 and 9 days. For example, iOS 26.1 beta was made available for testing 7 days after the public release of iOS 26.1.
If Apple follows the same schedule this year, we should be seeing iOS 27.1 beta by next week, whereas the final version of iOS 27.1 should be released by October 23.
Why October 23? Because that is when iPhone Duo is expected to ship, and Apple has already said that iPhone Duo will be available with iOS 27.1. So the software update needs to be ready by then.

iOS 27.1’s release holds significance for certain users who are concerned about the stability and performance of a major iOS release like iOS 27.0, and would want to wait until Apple irons out the initial bugs and issues with the release of iOS 27.1.
