Apple begins testing iWork web apps on iCloud.com

iCloud iWork beta 1

Apple has apparently started rolling out iWork beta web apps on iCloud.com. The web apps that were announced during the WWDC 2013 keynote were previously only available at beta.icloud.com and to those who had registered developer accounts. Now the web apps have started to appear on the main website.

The web apps are not available on all iCloud accounts as we have tested but we were able to get the web apps on Apple IDs that are registered with Apple’s developer programs and were used on devices running iOS betas. This may be due to slow roll out or Apple may be testing out beta versions of the web apps with limited number of users.

All the new iWork web apps that are available on iCloud.com, which includes Pages, Numbers and Keynote have beta tag on their icons. This means Apple is still testing the web apps and they are not ready just yet.

It is expected that the new iCloud web apps will come out of beta stage in the fall around the release of iOS 7.
