With iOS 18.1 Developer Beta, Apple has made some of the features of Apple Intelligence available to developer beta testers. This includes the Writing Tools feature that allows users to proofread and rewrite text on their iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Integrated seamlessly with the stock keyboard, Writing Tools are accessible across most apps, including third-party ones.

The writing tools let users perform various actions including rewriting text in friendly or professional tones, making text more concise, summarizing content, gathering key points, and creating lists or tables.

Using the Writing Tools feature in iOS 18.1 is simple. To start, select the text you want to improve or proofread in any app, such as Notes. After selecting the text, you will see the proofread and rewrite options appear above the keyboard. You can tap these options to quickly perform the actions or access more controls by tapping the Apple Intelligence button on the side.
