Apple has seeded iOS 18 developer beta 4 with many new changes and improvements over the previous beta. Beta 4 was released 2 weeks after the release of beta 3 and almost a week after Apple released revised beta 3.
Apple has introduced many new features over the previous betas with this release. We have detailed all of the known changes below.
New CarPlay wallpapers
In iOS 18 beta 4, beta testers will find 8 new light and dark mode wallpapers. The iOS 18 wallpapers heavily inspire these wallpapers.
Expansion of new Flashlight design
iOS 18 brings a new flashlight interface, which was previously limited to iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro. In this update, Apple has added a new interface to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus as well.
New Controls Menu toggle
A new toggle has been added in the Camera app’s Settings (accessible on Settings -> Camera). When enabled this new toggle will allow users to preserve previously used camera tools when expanding the controls menu instead of showing the list of camera tools.
Other changes in iOS 18 beta 4
- The lock screen icon for iPhone Mirroring has been redesigned.
- The icon for the Hidden Apps folder in the App Library has been redesigned.
- New window sizing options have been added to iPhone Mirroring.
- A new animation has been added for the Subscriber badge in the Settings app’s iCloud menu.
- Books that appear in the Continue section now have a black background.
- Dark Mode widgets can be used in Light Mode.
- The Stock app’s icon has been tweaked.
