Apple has just released iOS 26.7.1 software update for iPhone and iPad users who did not upgrade to iOS 27. The update brings important security fixes and is recommended for all users.
When Apple released iOS 27 earlier this month, it also released the iOS 26.7 update for users who did not want to update to iOS 27 right away. The company has now released iOS 26.7.1 for those users. The update can only be downloaded over the air on iPhones and iPads that are capable of running iOS 27.
iOS 26.7.1 has been released at the same time as iOS 27.0.1 and iPadOS 27.0.1.
According to Apple’s description, the security fix is related to CoreGraphics. The vulnerability could allow a maliciously crafted file to perform arbitrary code execution.
To update your iPhone, just go to Settings -> General -> Software Update and install iOS 26.7.1.
If you have a device that did not get the iOS 27 update, such as an iPad 8th generation, iPad Air 3, iPad mini 5, 11-inch iPad Pro 2nd generation or 12.9-inch iPad Pro 4th generation, then you can also download iPadOS 26.7.1 IPSW and use Finder/iTunes to install the update manually.
