iOS 17 is going to be a big release and it is expected to bring a number of notable new features to Apple’s mobile devices. This bit of reporting comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who says Apple has changed its strategy when it comes to iOS 17 development.
Reporting in the latest edition of the PowerOn newsletter, Gurman says Apple had originally planned to keep the focus of iOS 17 updates on bug fixes and performance improvements rather than adding flashy new features to the operating system. However, that strategy was revised by the company, which is now planning to add some notable new features to iOS as well.
According to the report, iOS 17 will bring some ‘nice to have’ features. This will include some of the most requested features from users.
Gurman didn’t go as far as stating what new features will come with iOS 17, it looks like for that we will have to wait for more news to leak in the coming weeks and months.
Having said that, it is a piece of exciting news and it indicates that we will have an exciting WWDC 2023, which is not only going to bring a brand new iOS 17 but also the announcement of Apple’s first-ever headset dubbed Reality Pro headset.
Speaking of the Reality Pro headset, Gurman also reports that Apple has held a ‘momentous gathering’ at the Steve Jobs Theater where its 100 highest-ranking executives gathered to get a sneak peek at the company’s $3,000 headset. The headset demonstration to the top 100 was Apple’s biggest yet, suggesting a public unveil could be near.
