Less than two weeks have passed since the release of iOS 17.6.1, and Apple is now expected to release iOS 17.6.2 to for public in the coming days. The report was revealed by a private X account (via 9to5Mac), which boasts the user as someone with a ‘strong track record’.
Along with iOS 17.6.2, Apple is also said to release iPadOS 17.6.2 for the public. The build number for this release is going to be 21G101 or 21G102.
If released, iOS 17.6.2 will most likely focus on bug fixes and perhaps bring some important security fixes that Apple has found in the iOS 17.6.1 update.
Apple is also beta-testing iOS 18.0 and iOS 18.1 at the same time. iOS 18.0 is going to be released in mid-September after the company has announced its new iPhone lineup. iOS 18.1 on the other hand is expected to get released sometime in October and bring many of Apple Intelligence features that are missing in iOS 18.0.
iOS 18 supports iPhone XS or later. A complete list of iOS 18 compatible devices can be found here.
