Apple’s AirPods 3 Rumored To Cost Around $200

Apple’s third-generation AirPods are long overdue. Rumors suggest that the next model of AirPods, Apple’s cheapest product from its growing AirPods lineup will be released in the first half of 2021.

As we draw closer to their release more and more information is surfacing on the web. New report from TheElec says Apple’s AirPods 3rd generation will be released with an AirPods Pro inspired design and a shorter stem.

While the headphones will feature a similar in-ear design as the AirPods Pro, they are expected to lack notable Pro features like the noise-cancellation and transparency features.

Another notable information about third-generation AirPods from the report suggests that they will be priced around $200. While TheElec’s report that does not specifically quote that price, it does say the ‘Lite’ version of AirPods Pro will be 20% cheaper, which puts them in that price bracket.

While we have heard similar details about AirPods 3 before, this is the first time that a report has referred to them as AirPods Lite and discussed their expected price.

The current 2nd generation AirPods with wireless charging case are available at $199 from Apple. This puts the price of 3rd generation AirPods in the same range. It would be interesting to see if Apple also offers AirPods 3 with a non-wireless charging case at a reduced price of $159, as is the case with current generation.

Along with AirPods 3 Apple is also expected to launch AirPods Pro 2 with a redesign. While the AirPods 3 are expected to get the design of the AirPods Pro, the Pros are also expected to get a redesign and new look. The new AirPods Pro 2 could look similar to Samsung Galaxy Buds according to a report from Bloomberg.
