Electra RC 1 Jailbreak Tool With Cydia Released To Developers

The long wait for those waiting for a finished iOS 11.0 – iOS 11.1.2 jailbreak is about to get over soon. Electra Jailbreak Release Candidate 1 has been handed over to jailbreak developers, so they can test the tool and get their tweaks ready for a public release.

What makes this release different than previous Electra tool releases is that this time a patched version of Cydia is included with it, which allows users to run Cydia on iOS 11 and install tweaks from their favorite repositories. Previously Electra jailbreak users had to manually install tweak deb files onto their devices, a process that was meant for more advanced users.

While Saurik has yet to add official iOS 11 support to Cydia, something he is actively working on CoolStar was able to patch Cydia, making it capable of installing, uninstalling tweaks and perform other tasks for users.

There are still issues with Cydia and tweaks, preventing them to work on iOS 11 properly, however with the tool only available to developers we hope these issues will be ironed out once the public release is made.

While you can download Electra beta 11-3 right now and jailbreak your iOS 11 powered device, it is wise to wait for CoolStar to release the final version, that will come with Cydia on-board.
