After four long years since its removal, Fortnite has finally returned to the iPhone as it is now available for download for iPhone users in the European Union.
Fortnight, which is a popular battle-royale game has not returned to the App Store. Instead, it can be downloaded from the Epic Games Store, which has also launched for the iPhone in the EU today.
The game has returned to the iPhone thanks to the EU’s Digital Markets Act, which has forced Apple to allow third-party app marketplaces within the EU.
If you are in the European Union, you can head to this page on your device and download Fortnite and other Epic Games titles. Other than Fortnite, users can also download Epic Games titles like Fall Guys and Rocket League Sideswipe. Epic Games has said that it will add more titles to the store in the future.
Fortnite was pulled from the App Store and Google Play Store back in August 2020 when its creator Epic was caught violating Apple’s in-app purchase system rules by offering the V-Bucks in-game currency through the web and avoiding paying a 30% platform fee to Apple.
You can install Epic Game Store and download Fortnite on iPhones running iOS 17.4 or later. iPads do not support third-party app marketplaces yet, and the support will be added with the release of iPadOS 18.
