As we draw closer to Apple’s Far Out event, which is scheduled to take place on September 7, well connected Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman has shared new details about the event.
Gurman writing in his PowerOn newsletter says Apple will launch the second generation AirPods Pro at the event. If this turns out to be true, then we will get the launch of highly anticipated AirPods Pro 2 along side the iPhone 14 lineup’s launch.
We have been hearing rumors about the AirPods Pro 2 for a while now and this is not the first time we have heard reports about its imminent release.
AirPods Pro 2 are expected to bring some major new changes to the AirPods Pro device. Previously rumors have claimed that Apple will get rid of the stem design and give them a rounded stem-less look. However more recent rumors have suggested the cosmetic changes will be less drastic than that.
Rumors about the AirPods Pro 2 case have also surfaced with some reports suggesting the case will be 0.8mm taller and 6.6mm wider than the current generation. The increased size could help in improving the battery life of the charging case.
Other changes expected in AirPods Pro 2 include a new H1 chip, Bluetooth 5.2 support, LC3 codec support and more. The introduction of this new codec will add stability and efficiency to the AirPods.
In addition to the alleged launch of AirPods Pro 2, Apple is expected to announce four new models of iPhone 14, new Apple Watch Series 8, a new more durable Apple Watch Pro and more.
