iOS 16.1 Is Now Available To Public Beta Testers

After seeding iOS 16.1 beta 1 to developers, Apple has today released iOS 16.1 beta for public beta testers. If you are an Apple public beta tester, then you can download iOS 16.1 on your device.

If you are new to the beta program, then you can sign up to Apple’s Public Beta Program for free and enrol your iPhone. After doing so you should be able to download and install iOS 16.1 update on your iPhone.

iOS 16.1, which is expected to release in mid-October along with iPadOS 16.1 is going to be the first major release after iOS 16.0. The update is going to bring several new features to iPhones that were missing from iOS 16’s initial release.

This includes Live Activities feature and Live Activities API for developers. In addition to that iOS 16.1 is introducing the new Clean Energy Charging feature, which enables the iPhone to charge at times when low carbon emission electricity is available.

iOS 16.1 also allows users to delete Wallet app from their device amid antitrust issues of Apple Pay. iCloud Shared Photo Library feature is also going to be part of iOS 16.1.
