iOS hacker i0n1c shows iOS 8.4 jailbreak on video

iOS 8.4 jailbreak

Infamous iOS hacker @i0n1c has just shared an iOS 8.4 jailbreak video on his Youtube channel in which he clearly shows jailbreak and Cydia running on an iPhone 6 Plus. The special thing about this video is that the device is jailbroken on iOS 8.4 beta 1, which means the hacker has been able to successfully jailbreak and install Cydia on his device running the beta software. In the video’s description the developer notes that he has used the vulnerability that he found after the SyScan 2015 security conference. According to him the vulnerability is “not new to iOS” and has been inside the operating system’s code for a long time.

He further notes that the code of this iOS 8.4 jailbreak is different from the ‘CyberElevator for iOS 7.1.1’. An important thing about this video and the jailbreak is that the hacker is not able to make it untethered at the moment, which normally means the device has to be connected to a jailbreak tool after every reboot.

I0n1c hasn’t shared any details about what he is going to do with this achievement and whether he plans to release iOS 8.4 jailbreak for public. However if history is any indication than we will just have to wait for Pangu, TaiG or Evad3rs to update their tools instead.

We will share more as soon as we get more information about the iOS 8.4 jailbreak. As of now no jailbreak is available for iOS 8.2, iOS 8.3 as well as yet to be released iOS 8.4.
