iPhone 7 Running iOS 10 Gets Jailbroken, But Don’t Expect A Release Just Yet

The new iPhone 7 that only started shipping to customers last week has been successfully jailbroken by iOS hacker Luca Tedesco. The well known hacker has shared photos of his iPhone 7 running Cydia on iOS 10. This is not the first time Tedesco has shown off a jailbroken iOS 10 device, however this is the first time ever an iPhone 7 has been seen in this state. This particular jailbreaker has a history of keeping his jailbreaks to himself so we don’t expect him doing anything differently this time around, however this achievement should be seen as a positive development for the jailbreak community.

Now that we know iPhone 7 and mostly probably iPhone 7 Plus can be jailbreaked on iOS 10.0.1, it is only a matter of time when someone else will be able to release an iOS 10 public jailbreak for everyone. This is particularly a good news for iPhone 7 users who can rest assured that whenever a jailbreak is released, it will feature support for their device. Tedesco teased the jailbreak on his Twitter account that showed an iPhone 7 running Cydia. The device was running Cydia 1.1.26 and was identified as iPhone 9,3 in Cydia.

While not much is known about this particular jailbreak by Tedesco it is very likely that it is the same semi-untethered jailbreak that he demoed on video about a week ago. We will post more updates about iOS 10 jailbreak as events unfold. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter.
