This year Apple is rumored to release a special rugged model of the Apple Watch that will be designed for those who want to use their Apple Watch during extreme sporting activities.
The rugged Apple Watch is expected to be more durable and stronger compared to the normal Apple Watch and offer features like improved battery life.
Now Bloomberg is reporting more details about this rumored new Apple Watch. According to the report rugged Apple Watch, which is expected to get released later this year presumably along with iPhone 14 will have a stronger metal case and a larger display.
This Bloomberg report about a larger display on the rugged Apple Watch corroborates with what analyst Ross Young and Jeff Pu have said earlier this week.
The analysts claimed Apple will release an Apple Watch Series 8 with a 1.99-inch display. The current Apple Watch Series 7 has a screen size of 1.77-inch. The display is said to feature a resolution of 410 x 502 compared to current Apple Watch’s 396 x 484.
While the analysts did not name Apple Watch Rugged Edition as the beneficiary of the larger screen, things are now more clear with Bloomberg’s report.
The report says the larger display will be one of the key selling points of the Apple Watch.
Apple Watch Rugged Edition is said to feature a stronger metal instead of Aluminium. This new material, which has not been specifically named in the report is said to make the Apple Watch more resistant.
The exact pricing details of the rugged Apple Watch are not available yet however it is rumored to cost more than the $699 price of the Apple Watch stainless steel edition.
