This year’s iPhone 11 has been rumored to feature a triple-camera system. In fact we also saw a few mockups that showed us how an iPhone with three cameras would look like. Now Japanese website Macotakara has posted information that it got from Chinese suppliers saying the next iPhone will indeed feature a triple-camera module.
According to the report the layout of the triple-cameras will be similar to HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro, which houses the lenses and flash in a big square on the back.
While previous reports have pointed towards Apple keeping the triple-camera system limited to its largest model, Macotakara seems to believe that Apple will include the new camera on both 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch iPhones, adding that the high-end camera feature may be limited to higher storage capacity models.
So this means while lower storage tier models such as the 64GB and 128GB variants may feature dual cameras like iPhone XS, the higher capacity models such as 256GB and 512GB could have triple cameras.
If this is true, this will be the first time ever in iPhone’s history when the company would limit a big feature based on storage and pricing of the same model. Previously Apple has kept certain design aspects limited to a higher capacity models such as with iPhone 7 the Jet Black color option was only offered with 128GB variant. The company has even offered more RAM on devices with more storage capacity as with the case of 1TB iPad Pro, however this will be the first time a big feature will be limited based on the storage.
