There are strong rumors that Apple will finally update the design of the Apple Watch bringing significant change to its screen size. If true, this will be the first ever redesign for the wearable device, which has remained largely unchanged for the past three years.
According to recent rumors, Apple will continue releasing two different sizes of the Watch that will include a 38mm version and a 42mm version. The 38mm version of the Watch will reportedly have a 1.57-inch display compared with 1.5-inch display of the current models. The 42mm version on the other hand will have a 1.78-inch screen size as opposed to 1.65 of the current model.
Despite the larger screen the device will have the same size as the current models. This will be made possible thanks to smaller bezels on the sides, a trend Apple has followed with iPhone X and is expected to continue with other products like iPad Pros.
The result as shown in these mockups by Benjamin Geskin is a beautiful device with a display that not only looks a lot more beautiful but can also display more information at the same time. The larger screen size will also make it easier for users to interact with the device’s touchscreen. With the added real estate Apple’s software team will also have more space to work with.
