Apple has released watchOS 8.1.1 software update and it is now available for download. The update fixes a charging issue that was seen on the new Apple Watch Series 7.
The watchOS 8.1.1 update is only available for Apple Watch Series 7. Other models of Apple Watch did not receive this update.
If you have an Apple Watch Series 7, then you can head over to Watch app on your iPhone and go to My Watch -> General -> Software Update and download the update.
Apple says watchOS 8.1.1 fixes the issue where Apple Watch Series 7 did not charge as expected. The issue affected some users, however even if you did not face charging problems on your Watch Series 7 it is still recommended that you upgrade.
The charging issue on Apple Watch Series 7 was not widespread and we have not seen many users complaining about it. However it is good to see Apple releasing software updates to fix problems that some users might be facing. Just yesterday Apple had released iOS 15.1.1 to fix call drop issues on iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models.
